Stig Tøfting is a former Danish professional footballer born on August 14, 1969, in Aarhus, Denmark. He played as a defensive midfielder during his career, known for his aggressive style and strong tackling abilities.
Tøfting began his professional football career with Aarhus Gymnastikforening (AGF) in 1988 and played for several clubs in Denmark, including Brøndby IF, OB, and FC Copenhagen. He also played in Germany for Hamburger SV and MSV Duisburg.
Tøfting was a part of the Danish national team from 1993 to 2002, making 66 appearances and scoring two goals. He participated in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2000 UEFA European Championship with Denmark.
Tøfting was known for his controversial behavior off the field, including several altercations with teammates, opposition players, and even a police officer. He retired from football in 2006 and has since worked as a television pundit and manager.
